Job summary

Viceroy Washington DC is seeking an Assistant Human Resources Manager to support dual-property HR operations for Viceroy Washington DC and Hotel Zena. You will partner with leaders to drive talent acquisition, employee relations, payroll coordination, and engagement initiatives in a fast-paced luxury setting.

The role requires operational rigor, sound judgment, and the ability to handle confidential matters in a premium hospitality environment.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
• 2–4 years of Human Resources experience (luxury hospitality preferred).
• Comprehensive knowledge of federal and DC employment law (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, wage and hour).
• Experience managing employee relations and performance management processes.
• Proficiency with HRIS and payroll systems.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and documentation skills.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Demonstrated professionalism, discretion, and sound judgment.
• SHRM-CP, PHR, or equivalent certification preferred.

Responsibilities

• Partner with department leaders to execute full-cycle recruitment, onboarding strategies.
• Provide guidance on performance management, corrective action, and progressive discipline processes.
• Conduct employee relations investigations and recommend resolutions.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and DC employment laws (FLSA, ADA, FMLA, wage & hour regulations).
• Maintain HRIS data integrity and personnel documentation in accordance with audit standards.
• Support payroll processing, timekeeping review, and benefits administration.
• Assist with workforce planning, turnover analysis, and HR reporting metrics.
• Support colleague engagement initiatives, recognition programs, and training development efforts.
• Maintain confidentiality of employee and business information.
• Participate in internal audits, compliance reviews, and policy implementation initiatives.
