Job summary

R+L Carriers, a family-owned transportation company, has an immediate opening for a Mechanic Recruiter at our Wilmington Service Center. You will recruit and process applicants, supporting multiple hiring managers and regions remotely.

This full-time role requires sourcing, interviewing, and offering candidates for diesel technician and mechanic positions, with occasional travel and a focus on building strong pipelines to meet staffing goals.

Qualifications

• Experience recruiting for heavy truck or trailer roles preferred.
• Recruiting experience required if no heavy truck mechanic experience.
• Strong communication and dependable team player.

R+L Carriers has an immediate opening for a Mechanic Recruiter in our Wilmington Service Center office. As a mechanic Recruiter, you will be responsible for recruitment and employment processing and will remotely support multiple hiring managers and regions throughout the company.

Duties & Responsibilities

• Source, recruit, interview, and hire candidates in a very high-volume and demanding environment.
• Accurately reports on status of filling positions, identifies hiring barriers, implements plan to resolve, escalates issues not resolved timely and is responsible for staffing goals.
• Reviews applications/resumes to match prospective employee's work history, education, job skills and salary requirements with our current job openings.
• Other duties as assigned by the HR Recruitment Manager.
• Setup interviews and complete employment offer.

Minimum Requirements

• Previous experience as heavy truck or trailer mechanic or experience in recruiting this field preferred.
• Recruiting experience required if no heavy truck mechanic experience.
• Must be flexible, and dependable.
• Must be able to travel when needed.
• Must possess strong communication skills.
• Must have a positive, TEAM mindset.

Position Expectations

This position requires a proactive recruiting approach. The HR Mechanic Recruiter should continuously develop relationships and candidate pipelines, particularly in locations where qualified diesel technicians and mechanics are difficult to find. Success in this role will be measured by the recruiter's ability to provide hiring managers with qualified candidates, reduce time-to-fill, maintain strong candidate communication, and support the company's long-term mechanic staffing needs.

• Some travel will be required to attend recruiting events, visit company locations, and support other hiring initiatives.
