Job summary

Sunrise Senior Living is seeking an HR Manager to lead all HR operations within the community, partnering with the Executive Director to drive workforce excellence, regulatory compliance and a positive team member experience.

You’ll manage full-cycle recruitment, onboarding, payroll, benefits, employee relations, training and Sunrise University oversight, focusing on retention and high engagement to support resident care and service standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree required.
• 3–5 years HR generalist experience (senior living, healthcare or hospitality preferred).
• 3+ years supervisory/leadership experience.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and compliance practices.
• High integrity handling confidential information.
• Strong communication, organization and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and HR systems.

Responsibilities

• Lead full-cycle recruitment, hiring and onboarding processes.
• Provide guidance on team member relations, performance management and coaching.
• Oversee payroll processing, timekeeping and benefits administration.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state/provincial and company employment laws.
• Maintain personnel files, HRIS data and required postings.
• Manage workers’ compensation and OSHA compliance initiatives.
• Monitor performance evaluations, merit increases and engagement planning.
• Support annual budgeting and labor management strategies.
• Deliver HR training and Sunrise University program oversight.
• Partner with leadership to drive retention, accountability and team success.
