Job summary

D&H Distributing is seeking an HR Manager, Projects to join our distribution center network HR team. Based in Harrisburg, PA, this role is hybrid and travels to cover locations as needed to support vacation, leaves, or turnover.

You'll lead HR processes including recruitment, employee engagement, onboarding, benefits management, safety, and policy implementation, while partnering with operations to drive network-wide training and development programs for co-owners.

Qualifications

• 5+ years HR generalist or management experience in a distribution or manufacturing environment.
• Able to travel to locations as needed (up to 50%).
• Previous Project based work and Project management experience a plus.
• Knowledge of the employment laws, Federal and State.
• Experience actively managing leaves including workers compensation to resolution, navigating and appropriately working through FMLA, ADA and other leave and overall leave management.
• Ability to objectively coach employees and management through complex, difficult, and sometimes emotional issues.
• Ability to communicate effectively and build strong relationships with co-owners, internal departments, including the corporate office and external customers and vendors.
• Bachelor Degree preferred.
• Knowledge of HRIS and time keeping systems, TCP preferred.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English, bi-lingual is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Understand and handle full cycle HR within the distribution center including high volume recruitment, salaried recruitment, employee engagement, training and development, new employee orientation, benefits management, safety in partnership with operations, workers compensation and unemployment claim management, employee relations, and auditing of time keeping.
• Partner with the operations management team to drive consistent and fair application of policy and procedure across locations.
• As this role will cover multiple locations they need to be adaptable and able to learn and keep in mind local HR laws may vary.
• Project work will include revamping onboarding and new hire orientations, partnering with operations to create a network-wide training program for new Warehouse co-owners and any temporary or agency workers, and creating supervisor and lead development programs.

Summary

We are seeking a HR Manager, Projects to join our Distribution Center Network HR Team. This role will be based in Harrisburg, PA but will need to be open to travel to cover locations as needs. This position will be responsible to travel to locations to cover vacation, leaves or turnover in our HR Manager roles or as support is needed. In times where this is not needed they will be either assisting or leading HR Projects across the network as well as in our corporate offices. This position is fast paced and requires the incumbent to be both organized and detail orientated to handle the paperwork side of the role, but also be hands on with employee engagement and retention, as well as being able to critically think to help drive improvements, both that would impact locations they may be supporting, as well as potentially the entire network. The will need to truly partner with the business to meet goals that benefit us all as co-owners at D&H Distributing.

Project work will be varied currently our top projects are revamping our onboarding and new hire orientations, partnering with operations to create a consistent and network wide training program for new Warehouse co-owners and any temporary or agency workers, and creating both a supervisor and lead development program.
