Job summary

Partnership for Children of Essex in Bloomfield, NJ is seeking a Human Resources Manager to oversee employee relations, recruitment, performance management, benefits administration, compliance, and engagement while partnering with leadership to foster a positive workplace culture.

The ideal candidate has a Bachelor's in HR or related field (Master's preferred), at least three years of HR experience, strong communication and organizational skills, and proficiency with Microsoft Office and HRIS

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred.
• At least three years of HR experience required.
• SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR or SPHR a plus.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office or related software and HRIS/talent systems.
• Must pass a criminal background check.

Responsibilities

• Administer and execute HR programs including compensation, benefits, leave, disciplinary matters, investigations, performance and talent management, and safety.
• Serve as a strategic HR partner to staff, supervisors, and leadership.
• Lead full-cycle recruitment: develop postings, source candidates, conduct screenings, set up interviews, and communicate offers.
• Plan and execute new-hire onboarding with leadership.
• Handle inquiries from applicants and employees; escalate complex matters.
• Attend disciplinary meetings, terminations, and investigations.
• Maintain compliance with employment laws and best practices.
• Stay updated on HR trends, regulatory changes, and technology in HR.
