Job summary

Tetra Pak seeks an experienced HR Manager to lead the site’s HR function in Vancouver, WA. You will serve as the primary advisor on labor relations, partnering with plant leadership, unions, and employees to foster compliance and engagement.

You will shape workforce strategy, strengthen labor-management partnerships, and drive culture transformation while ensuring legal compliance and operational excellence. This hands-on role thrives in a unionized manufacturing setting and involves some travel.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Leadership experience.
  • Experience interpreting, administering, and applying Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced and business-focused HR Manager to serve as the lead Human Resources partner for our manufacturing facility in Vancouver, Washington. In this critical role, you will be the site's primary HR advisor, employee relations expert, partnering closely with plant leadership, union representatives, and employees to foster a high-performing, compliant, and engaged workforce.

As a key member of the factory leadership team, you will help shape the future of the organization by driving workforce strategy, strengthening labor-management partnerships, leading culture transformation initiatives, and fostering a high-performing, engaged workforce. You will serve as a trusted advisor to leadership, ensuring compliance with labor and employment laws while championing change management efforts that support operational excellence and business growth.

This opportunity is ideal for a hands-on HR professional who thrives in a dynamic unionized manufacturing environment, enjoys building trusted relationships, navigating complex employee and labor relations matters, strengthening labor-management partnerships, and leading culture transformation initiatives that enhance employee engagement, workforce performance, and organizational effectiveness.

This position is located in Vancouver, WA and is primarily office-based. Occasional domestic travel (up to 10%) may be required.

What you will do

As an HR Manager (HR Factory Representative) you will:

Labor & Employee Relations Leadership

  • Serve as the primary HR lead for labor and employee relations matters within a unionized manufacturing environment.
  • Interpret, administer, and advise leaders on collective bargaining agreements (CBAs).
  • Manage grievance processes, investigations, corrective actions, conflict resolution, and labor-management discussions.
  • Build productive relationships with union leadership, fostering trust, collaboration, and effective problem-solving.
  • Ensure consistent application of company policies, labor agreements, and employment practices.

Employment Law & Compliance

  • Provide expert guidance on federal, state, and local employment laws, HR policies, and compliance requirements.
  • Partner with leaders to proactively identify and mitigate employee relations and compliance risks.
  • Conduct workplace investigations and ensure appropriate documentation and resolution.
  • Maintain compliance with company policies, labor agreements, and regulatory requirements.
  • Lead full-cycle recruitment and onboarding efforts for hourly manufacturing employees.
  • Partner with site leadership on workforce planning and talent acquisition strategies.
  • Drive performance management, employee development succession planning, and workforce capability initiatives.
  • Support leadership development efforts and strengthen managerial effectiveness.

Business Partnership & Organizational Effectiveness

  • Act as a trusted coach and advisor to leaders at all levels of the organization.
  • Support change management, organizational development, and culture transformation initiatives.
  • Drive employee engagement efforts and promote an inclusive, high-performance work environment.
  • Collaborate across HR functions to deliver seamless and effective HR support.

Data & Operational Excellence

  • Analyze workforce trends and HR metrics, including turnover, attendance, overtime, staffing, recruiting, and labor relations indicators.
  • Use data insights to guide decisions, improve workforce effectiveness, and support operational goals.
  • Maintain HR records and oversee day-to-day HR operations and site-specific HR programs.
We believe you have
  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Industrial Relations,or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3-5 years of progressive HR Generalist or HR Leadership experience
  • Experience interpreting, administering, and applying Collective Bargaining Agreements (CBAs).
  • Experience in a unionized manufacturing environment is preferred but not required.
  • Experience supporting labor negotiations, grievance resolution, and labor-management committees is preferred but not required.
  • Experience leading organizational change, culture transformation, and workforce engagement initiatives is preferred but not required.
  • Strong employee relations, workplace investigation, and conflict resolution experience.
  • Working knowledge of federal and state employment laws and HR compliance practices.
  • Demonstrated ability to influence leaders, build trust, and drive business results through strong partnerships.
  • Experience supporting change management, organizational development, and culture transformation initiatives.
    • Strong problem-solving, analytical, and decision-making skills.
    • Ability to influence leaders and employees at all levels.
    • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
Pay Equity

Tetra Pak provides the following compensation range that in good faith believes it might pay and/or offer for this position. The range displayed reflects the minimum and maximum target for new hire salaries for the positionacross all US locations. Ranges are determined by role, level and location. Within the range, individual pay is defined by work location and additional factors, including job-related skills, experience, and relevant education ortraining.

This compensation range is based on a full-time schedule. The estimate displayed is just one component of Tetra Pak's total compensation package for employees. Other rewards include annual performance bonus, competitive benefits,and work-related allowances.

  • Annual Base Salary Range (ABS): $86,700.00-$123,800.00 USD
  • Short-term Incentive/Bonus (Variable Pay): Eligible to performance incentive of 10% of ABS
