Job summary

The Agency seeks a Human Resources Specialist/Labor Relations - SES to support HR functions within Tacachale. You will interpret rules, advise on disciplinary actions, manage unemployment, and support performance evaluations.

Responsibilities include maintaining HR records, coordinating investigations, and ensuring compliance. This role emphasizes customer service, teamwork, and ability to work under pressure in an emergency context.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of the principles of human resource management.
• Ability to plan, organize and coordinate work assignments.
• Knowledge and ability to use various computer programs (i.e., Microsoft Office Suite, People First, etc.).
• Knowledge of records management.
• Knowledge of redaction methods.
• Ability to compose correspondence of a complex nature.
• Ability to meet deadlines.
• Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
• Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.

Responsibilities

• Interpret the State Personnel System Rules and assure rules and policies are applied impartially.
• Assist employees, supervisors, and dept. heads to resolve work-related conflicts through advice and recommendations.
• Advise managers on disciplinary actions and performance issues; ensure proper documentation and action.
• Manage unemployment compensation and serve as liaison with Department of Economic Opportunity.
• Oversee the performance evaluation program and post evaluations in the People First system.
• Organize and maintain Employee Relations files, generate reports, and prepare necessary correspondence.
• Provide back-up to other HR functions as needed.
• Greet and assist customers at front desk and manage records requests.
