Job summary

Brown University Health is seeking an HR Service Center Representative to act as the frontline support for employees on HR questions and concerns. You will provide high-quality customer service, guide employees through HR processes, and resolve issues in a timely manner, reporting to the Program Manager, HR Service Center.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or equivalent experience required.
• Demonstrated experience in customer service, with a preference for human resources experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Critical thinking skills.
• Attention to detail.
• Willingness to learn and grow professionally.
• Demonstrated proficiency with Microsoft Office 365 applications.
• Experience with HR information systems preferred.
• Demonstrated understanding of HR policies and practices preferred.
• Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Address queries and concerns from employees regarding HR policies, benefits, procedures, and employment-related matters.
• Support department managers with HRIS transactions and recommend resources for HR inquiries.
• Guide employees with onboarding, benefits enrollment, and updating personal information.
• Resolve payroll, benefits, or workplace policy issues promptly and satisfactorily.
• Maintain accurate records in the HRIS for documentation and reporting purposes.
• Educate employees on HR policies and programs and available self-service resources.
• Assist employees with understanding and enrolling in benefits programs.
• Handle sensitive information with confidentiality and discretion.
• Escalate complex cases to Tier 2 or Tier 3 when needed and communicate next steps clearly.
