Job summary

Arcosa Wind Towers, Inc. in Newton, IA is seeking an HR Generalist to oversee onboarding, policy administration, employee relations and performance management at our Newton plant.

You will play a key role in benefits administration, workforce planning, and engagement initiatives while promoting a positive workplace culture and ensuring compliance with labor laws. The role reports to the Plant HR Manager and involves a broad range of HR activities onsite.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Marketing or related field; or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of three (3) years of HR experience.
• Confidentiality and record-keeping accuracy.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, esp. Excel, PowerPoint, Word, PowerBI and Outlook.
• Familiarity with UltiPro HRMS.
• Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
• Excellent communication and presentation skills.
• Bilingual preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR services and support to Arcosa managers.
• Conduct training sessions and investigate complaints.
• Maintain accurate employee records with privacy controls.
• Serve as central point for first-tier HR inquiries (benefits, policies, performanceMgmt).
• Respond to policies questions and process inquiries.
• Maintain EEO/AA logs and personnel records for compliance.
• Enroll employees in benefits programs and process new hire paperwork.
• Provide general administrative support for HR operations and training.
• Lead new hire orientation and record retention program compliance.
• Process Leave of Absence, FMLA, Worker’s Comp and other leave issues.
• Oversee personnel files and retention compliance.
• Spearhead employee retention initiatives to promote a positive culture.
• Participate in confidential investigations as needed.
• Represent the organization at unemployment hearings when required.
• Fulfill additional duties as assigned.
