Friedman Williams in Northern New Jersey seeks an HR Generalist to provide HR support across the firm, ensuring alignment with policies and applicable requirements. You will help with compliance, policy maintenance, forms, training, and HRIS data, while supporting benefits, payroll, recruiting, and employee inquiries.

The role includes back-up support for unemployment claims, onboarding, and leave processes, with involvement in audits, reporting, and special HR projects.

Qualifications

• Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred.
• 5+ years of HR experience, ideally in a law firm or professional services.
• Knowledge of HR policies, benefits and leave administration, employee relations, recruiting operations, HRIS processes, and employment laws (federal/state).
• Proficiency with Word, Excel, and Outlook.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support across the firm, aligning with policies and requirements.
• Monitor employment law requirements and maintain policies/records; manage postings and I-9 compliance.
• Support benefits administration, payroll, recruiting, onboarding, and employee inquiries.
• Assist vendor coordination, HRIS data maintenance, and employee relations documentation.
• Contribute to audits, reporting, process improvements, and special HR projects.
• Provide backup support for unemployment claims and leave processes as needed.
