Job summary

Dairyland Power Cooperative in La Crosse, Wisconsin is hiring a Human Resources Generalist to provide day-to-day HR support, apply policies consistently, and help ensure a positive employee experience.

Responsibilities include employee relations, recruiting and onboarding, performance management, HR data and reporting, compliance, and coordination of engagement, workforce planning, and change initiatives.

Qualifications

• BS/BA degree in Human Resources, Business or related field with a minimum of three (3) years of HR experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience will be considered.
• HR certification a plus (i.e. PHR, SHRM-CP).
• Working knowledge of HR practices, including recruitment, onboarding, policies, and employment laws.
• Exposure to labor relations, compensation practices, and talent management preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support to assigned client groups by helping employees and leaders understand HR programs, policies, and procedures.
• Independently respond to routine to moderately complex employee and labor relations matters, escalating when needed.
• Support talent acquisition, retention, workforce planning, and succession planning activities.
• Coordinate onboarding logistics, including new hire paperwork and department setup.
• Prepare and share people metrics and reports to support decision-making and trends.
• Assist with change management, training coordination, and process improvements.
