Job summary

Crystal Cove Conservancy in the United States is seeking a Human Resources Generalist/Manager to lead the HR function, partnering with senior leadership to support the people behind Crystal Cove's preservation and education work.

The role handles HR administration, recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, leaves, and workers’ compensation, reporting to the Director of Finance. A full-time position with competitive benefits.

Qualifications

• 2-5 years of HR experience in an organization of at least 50 employees.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience; degree preferred.
• Knowledge of California employment laws.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Responsibilities

• Manage HR department administration and policy implementation.
• Lead employee relations initiatives and maintain positive work environment.
• Recruiting: resume reviews, posting jobs, contacting candidates, scheduling interviews.
• Conduct onboarding and new hire orientation.
• Review, verify and process all new hire paperwork.
• Maintain employee files and up-to-date records.
• Enroll employees in health benefits and manage billing.
• Process workers’ compensation claims and oversee the case from open to close.
• Assist with leave of absence letters and interactive process.
• Maintain training records and audit time/absences.
