Job summary

Garelick Farms, part of Dairy Farmers of America, seeks an HR Specialist to support payroll, recruitment, onboarding, and employee relations. The role requires handling confidential information, coordinating benefits, and assisting with training and engagement initiatives.

Expect standard HR duties with some off-shift events for staffing and employee engagement. A high school diploma with HR coursework and 1–3 years' experience is preferred, plus bilingual English/Spanish is a strong plus.

Qualifications

• Knowledge of and skill with Microsoft Office Suite and company computer systems.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state employment laws.
• Able to discreetly handle sensitive/confidential employee information.
• Able to demonstrate a high degree of accuracy and thoroughness in executed tasks.

Responsibilities

• Administer payroll processing and auditing of payroll transactions.
• Perform recruiting activities including resume screening, interviews, and background checks.
• Assist with onboarding and new hire orientation and paperwork completion.
• Coordinate benefits enrollment, leave management, and employee changes in payroll systems.
• Coordinate travel and expense reports for candidates and new hires.
• Support training activities and employee engagement events.
• Respond to HR inquiries and liaise with corporate communications.
