Job summary

Beacon Hill is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support daily HR operations at our Los Angeles site. The role focuses on onboarding, recruitment support, benefits administration, HR compliance, and HRIS management to ensure accurate records and efficient processes.

The ideal candidate has 4+ years of HR Generalist experience, strong knowledge of California employment laws, and excels in a fast-paced, mission-driven nonprofit environment.

Qualifications

• 4+ years of HR Generalist experience.
• Strong knowledge of onboarding, recruiting, benefits administration, employee relations, and compliance.
• Experience with HRIS systems such as Paycom, ADP, Paylocity, UKG, or similar.
• Knowledge of California labor laws and HR best practices.
• Proficient with MS Office, including Excel and Outlook.
• Previous nonprofit or social services experience is highly preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Manage onboarding and offboarding processes, including new hire orientations and employee documentation.
• Maintain accurate employee records, personnel files, and HRIS data.
• Support recruitment efforts by posting jobs, coordinating interviews, and communicating with candidates.
• Assist with benefits administration, leave tracking, and employee inquiries.
• Process employee status changes, terminations, and other HR transactions.
• Support payroll by ensuring employee data and documentation are accurate and up to date.
• Assist with employee relations matters and provide guidance on HR policies and procedures.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws.
• Prepare reports, employment verifications, and other HR-related correspondence.
• Participate in HR projects, training initiatives, and process improvements.
