MOHR Talent’s client in Derby, NY is seeking an HR Generalist to own day-to-day HR at the manufacturing site, handling recruiting, employee relations, and separations with support from HR leadership.

As the site’s sole HR Generalist, you’ll partner with off-site managers, administer programs, analyze data, and ensure compliance with EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.

This full-time, on-site role offers a competitive salary of $65,000–$75,000 per year and benefits including health, 401(k), PTO, and more.

Compensation: $65,000–$75,000 per year

Take ownership of day-to-day HR at a manufacturing site while working closely with an off-site HR management team.

MOHR Talent’s client is seeking an HR Generalist to handle recruiting, hiring, employee relations, and employee separations. As the site’s only HR Generalist, you’ll be a local resource for employees and managers, with support from HR leadership.

What you’ll do

• Manage recruiting and hiring activities for the site.
• Address employee relations concerns using effective listening, sound judgment, and conflict resolution skills.
• Handle employee separation and termination processes in coordination with HR management.
• Partner closely with off-site HR managers on employee matters, HR programs, and departmental priorities.
• Administer and maintain HR programs, records, and confidential information.
• Research HR questions and help develop practical solutions.
• Gather and analyze HR data, prepare reports and presentations, and recommend improvements.
• Balance daily employee needs with assigned projects and deadlines.

Required qualifications

• Prior HR experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with recruiting, hiring, employee relations, and termination processes.
• Knowledge of applicable employment laws and requirements, including EEOC, ADA, FMLA, and FLSA.
• Ability to work independently while collaborating with HR leadership.
• Strong communication, organization, discretion, and customer service skills.
• Computer proficiency and the ability to analyze information, use statistical techniques, and present findings clearly.
• Ability to manage competing priorities and handle sensitive matters professionally.

Preferred qualifications

• English/Spanish bilingual proficiency is strongly preferred but not required.
• Food manufacturing experience is a plus but not required.
• A bachelor’s degree plus 2+ years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Familiarity with UltiPro HRIS.
