Collaborative Robotics is seeking an HR Generalist II to own and evolve the foundational People Operations infrastructure at our fast-growing startup. Reporting to the VP, Talent, this individual will be responsible for building and maintaining core HR programs that enable a compliant, people-first culture across our distributed team.

Join us to reimagine the future of human-robot interaction.

Collaborative Robotics is a team of innovators and builders redefining the future of human-robot interaction. We are working to realize a world where robots are a trusted extension of your surroundings. They work, adapt, and react around you. Not the other way around.

This role is located at our Santa Clara, CA or Seattle, WA headquarters.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Serve as the day-to-day point of contact for internal employee questions, as well as for our external HR and payroll support partners
  • Administer and manage employee benefits programs including open enrollment, vendor relationships, and employee inquiries
  • Provide support for people managers in performance and employee relations. Triage employee relations and performance management issues and escalate appropriately with documentation and guidance.
  • Lead onboarding and offboarding coordination across all systems and processes (e.g., HRIS, payroll, benefits, compliance, exit interviews, knowledge transfers)
  • Maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws, including monitoring legislative updates and adjusting internal policies accordingly. Track and manage required employee training completions and certifications (e.g., harassment prevention, safety). Support policy development, handbook updates, and communication plans for company-wide rollout. Manage Workers’ Compensation claims and leave-of-absence tracking (FMLA, CFRA, ADA, etc.)
  • Support the annual performance review process in partnership with the VP, Talent
  • Maintain up-to-date and audit-ready employee records across all HR systems
  • Pitch in on recruiting initiatives during high growth scaling periods

Minimum Qualifications:

  • 3–5 years of experience in Human Resources or People Operations roles, preferably in a fast-paced startup environment.
  • Working knowledge of employment law and HR compliance best practices (multi-state required; California preferred).
  • Experience with modern HR tech stacks such as Ashby, TriNet, Empower, and similar.
  • Strong organizational and problem-solving skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Comfortable operating in ambiguity and scaling HR practices from early-stage.
  • Ability to build trust with employees at all levels and handle sensitive information with discretion.
  • Highly motivated teammate with excellent oral and written communication skills, including strong internal service orientation.
  • Enjoy working in a fast paced, collaborative and dynamic start-up environment as part of a small team.
  • Willing to occasionally travel.
  • Must have and maintain US work authorization.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • PHR, SHRM-CP, or equivalent certification.
  • Familiarity with equity administration, performance management tools, and training platforms
  • Previous experience supporting hybrid or distributed teams
  • Experience working in robotics, deep tech, or other highly regulated environment
  • Experience with Talent Management
