FIVES LANDIS CORP – Gardner Abrasives is actively seeking a Human Resources Generalist to join its team in South Beloit, Illinois. The ideal candidate will contribute to developing departmental goals, managing payroll, benefits, and compliance across the organization.

Candidates should have 3–5 years of HR experience, strong communication skills, and a solid command of Microsoft Office and ADP. This role offers opportunities for growth within a global industrial group.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or bachelor’s degree in business-related field preferred.
• 3–5 years of HR practice experience required.
• Excellent oral & written communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office – Excel, Word, PowerPoint; ADP a plus.

Responsibilities

• Participate in developing departmental goals, objectives and systems.
• Recommends new approaches, policies and procedures to improve efficiency of department and services.
• Manages timekeeping and payroll aspects.
• Conducts new employee orientation and background checks.
• Maintains employee personnel files and HRIS in compliance with laws.
• Performs benefits administration including open enrollment and COBRA.
• Coordinates with supervisors and administers performance evaluation, workers’ comp, training, awards, safety programs, OSHA records.
• Ensures compliance with wage and hour laws.
