Job summary

The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH) seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support Central Office team members in Jefferson City, MO. This on-site role focuses on HR operations, data quality, and process improvement across the State.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business, or related field, or 3–5 years HR experience.
• Strong time management and organizational skills.
• Willingness to learn SQL and data analysis basics.
• Ability to protect and maintain strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a recruitment and hiring contact for Central Office supervisors.
• Advise staff on HR policies, time/leave administration, and position management.
• Explain benefits (health, retirement, life, Cafeteria Plan, Deferred Compensation) to employees.
• Coordinate personnel actions across systems (SAMII HR) with accurate data entry by cutoff dates.
• Assist with PDQ requests and coordination with OA staff.
• Assist with timekeeping processing, including entering timesheets in SAMII HR and Excel-based processing.
• Participate in process improvement efforts and lead projects when needed.
• Monitor compliance with state and federal employment regulations and internal policies.
• Learn SQL basics and contribute to workforce dashboards.
• Work independently under the supervision of a Human Resources Specialist.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
