Job summary

The Missouri Department of Mental Health (DMH), Office of Human Resources, seeks a Human Resources Generalist to support Central Office team members in Jefferson City, MO. This role will work on data quality, payroll and HR activities, with no hybrid or remote work option.

Responsibilities include recruitment support, policy guidance, benefits communication, PDQ coordination, timekeeping, and process improvements. A strong emphasis on confidentiality and data accuracy is required.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a point of contact for Central Office supervisors in recruitment and hiring processes.
• Advise staff on HR issues including policy interpretation and time/leave administration.
• Explain benefits to employees and communicate changes in health insurance and retirement plans.
• Coordinate personnel actions across systems (e.g., SAMII HR) ensuring accurate data entry by cutoffs.
• Assist with PDQ requests and coordinate with OA staff.
• Assist with timekeeping processing and enter/manual timesheets in SAMII HR; process timekeeping files in Excel.
• Participate in process improvements and lead projects when appropriate.
• Monitor compliance with state and federal employment regulations and internal policies.
• Work independently under supervision of a HR Specialist.
• Complete other duties as assigned.
