Virginia Commonwealth University (VCU) is seeking an HR Generalist with a strong emphasis on compensation analysis to support recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and policy interpretation. The role partners with leaders to ensure internal equity, market competitiveness, and effective workforce planning while managing HRIS data and reporting.

The ideal candidate has 3–5+ years of HR generalist experience, strong Excel skills, and experience with compensation processes.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR, business, or related field preferred.
• 3–5+ years HR generalist experience with compensation focus.
• Strong analytical skills to translate data into recommendations.
• Proficiency with Excel (PivotTables, XLOOKUP/VLOOKUP).

Responsibilities

• Conduct salary and total compensation analysis to evaluate equity and competitiveness.
• Prepare compensation analyses and recommendations for hires and promotions.
• Maintain accurate compensation data in HRIS and reporting dashboards.
• Support annual merit, bonus, and compensation review processes.
• Assist with recruiting, onboarding, and policy implementation.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
