Job summary

Deep South Crane & Rigging, LLC in Baton Rouge, LA is seeking an HR Generalist to support a variety of HR functions in a dynamic corporate office. The role focuses on claims administration, compliance, records management, and data coordination within a heavy-lift and rigging environment.

The ideal candidate holds a Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field (or strong HR experience in construction), plus a minimum of 3 years in HR in construction.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in HR or related field preferred; strong HR experience considered in lieu.
• Minimum 3 years HR experience in the construction industry.
• Louisiana Notary Public Commission in good standing preferred, not required.
• Experience with claims management: dealing with adjusters, counsel, TPAs.
• Basic knowledge of FMCSA DOT regulations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office, especially Excel.
• Strong knowledge of HR principles and confidentiality.
• Familiarity with contractor compliance, refinery requirements, and client prequalification systems is preferred.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate day-to-day administration of company insurance claims (auto liability, general liability, property, etc.).
• Assist HR Manager with claim administration: gather docs, contact carriers, adjusters, attorneys, and third parties.
• Maintain confidential HR and compliance records per policies and regulations.
• Escalate significant claim developments to HR Manager and keep leadership informed.
• Assist with DataQ requests or reviewing BASIC SMS score for accuracy.
• Research HR compliance law changes and respond to client questionnaires/audits as needed.
• Collaborate with HR Representatives to manage vehicle fleet cameras, inspections, and maintenance.
