Job summary

Hirschbach Motor Lines in Dubuque, IA seeks an HR Generalist to support benefits administration, leave processing, payroll compliance, and HRIS stewardship while enhancing employee relations and the overall experience.

You will partner with HR Business Partners, handle inquiries, coordinate with benefit providers, and help drive engagement, culture, and low-risk investigations across the organization. Monday–Friday, 8am–5pm in office.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in human resources or equivalent.
• 1–2 years of relevant experience in administrative roles, preferably in human resources or related setting.
• Experience with HRIS (Human Resources Information Systems) software.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate employee benefits enrollment, changes, and terminations.
• Serve as the first point of contact for benefit inquiries.
• Support open enrollment events and benefit education.
• Handle leave-of-absence processes and coordinate with the external leave administrator.
• Maintain employee data in the HRIS and ensure accuracy.
• Respond to unemployment claims and maintain regulatory knowledge.
• Provide first-level employee support via HR phone and email.
• Assist HR Business Partners with organizational changes and investigations.
