Job summary

Kyocera International, Inc. in San Diego, CA, is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support plant and sales employees across multiple locations. The role reports to the HR Manager and involves benefits administration, employee relations, performance, compliance, and recruitment.

The position requires a 4-year degree (HR or Industrial Relations preferred) with PHR or SHRM-CP certification preferred and about 4 years of HR experience. Travel up to 25% is expected.

Qualifications

• 4 year degree, bachelor’s degree preferred in HR or Industrial Relations.
• PHR or SHRM CP certification preferred.
• 4 years related HR employee support experience.
• Professional interpersonal skills, verbal/written communication and computer skills.
• Able to handle multiple projects simultaneously.
• Ability to handle highly confidential information.
• Excellent organization, administrative and creative problem solving skills.
• Must be able to interface with employees on all shifts.
• Resourceful at research and legal compliance.
• Eligible to work in an ITAR environment.
• Travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

• Collects inquiries and researches employee benefit questions with various sources.
• Communicates professionally in English with all employee groups, vendors, and agencies.
• Completes special projects, develops information reports, and supports HR processes.
• Protects confidential information and trains managers in privacy expectations.
• Assists HR Manager and division head on issues related to hires, terminations, compensation, benefits, and training databases.
• Provides information on policies, conditions, wages, and benefits daily and counsel on policy implications.
• Back up to Sr Generalist and HR Managers; may represent Kyocera at events and provide company-wide training.
• Maintains accurate personnel records and supports audits and month-end reports.
• Improves manager and employee performance by addressing issues early and implementing solutions.
