M.C. Dean is seeking an HR Generalist in Tysons, VA, to manage onboarding, performance management, and HR administration for a fast-growing team.

You will partner with Talent Acquisition, HR Operations, Payroll, and IT to ensure a smooth first day and ongoing employee development. The role requires strong communication skills, attention to detail, and adherence to policy; background screening is essential.

Qualifications

• Business or HR degree or equivalent in related work experience preferred.
• 0–2 years of experience with a Bachelor's degree; recruitment, employee development, employee relations and HR experience required.
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communication and customer service skills.
• Strong working knowledge of Windows and Microsoft Office, and Taleo applicant tracking software.
• PHR/SPHR certification strongly preferred.
• This position requires extensive background screening to meet contract needs.

Responsibilities

• Own onboarding scheduling, coordination, and delivery for assigned employee groups and locations.
• Coordinate with Talent Acquisition, HR, Payroll, Benefits, IT, Safety, Facilities, and other partners to prepare new employees for day one.
• Ensure completion of pre-employment and onboarding activities, including documentation, training, and system access.
• Deliver engaging onboarding content and maintain facilitator materials and records.
• Guide managers on onboarding expectations and provide tools for 30/60/90-day integration.
• Monitor onboarding progress and address delays promptly; drive continuous improvements.
• Coordinate performance management cycles, including communications, guidance, tracking, and escalation.
• Advise managers on goal setting, feedback, and evaluations; ensure documentation is complete and aligned with policy.
• Support compliance with employment requirements and audit HR records and postings.
• Provide general HR support, maintain HR data accuracy, and generate reports for leaders.
