Position SummaryThe Human Resources Manager, a department of one, retains the overall responsibility and accountability for all HR, Safety functions and programs, in partnership with company leadership.This position requires a customer-oriented mindset that sees employees as deserving of an excellent service experience, while also providing company management with an operations focus that delivers HR results in the most efficient, and cost-effective way possible.This work must be accomplished while maintaining positive relationships, ensuring legal compliance and creating an HR experience that supports the tangible success of the company.Note:This position will work with a high level of autonomy to cover all HR functions, is hands-on and operations intensive.This position operates on Day Shift (8:00am – 5:00pm)Essential Duties and ResponsibilitiesStrategic Business AcumenEstablishes strategic HR goals and initiatives that are clearly aligned with business initiatives and measurable in terms of business impact.Ability to objectively review systems, policies, vendor relationships, metrics, and trends from various systems, company functions and make informed recommendations to peers and leadership.HR FoundationEnsures that core HR Foundation documents are complete, up to date and maintained to reflect the reality of roles and responsibilities and business needs, that may change over time. These core documents are:Employee Handbook and related policiesJob DescriptionsEmployee evaluations and associated measurement criteriaSafety policies, procedures and documentationEmployee Lifecycle ManagementTalent AcquisitionOversees and administers all aspects of the talent acquisition function including:Active recruiting: online, job fair attendance, response to direct employment applications and inquiries.Updating of job requisitions, coordinating interviews and seeking process improvements.Establishing ongoing relationships with key community education leaders, non-profit organizations, manufacturing education program managers, to increase the awareness and visibility for qualified staff to join IMC.Payroll/HRIS ManagementOversee, process and optimize the payroll and HRIS function of the company’s Paycom installation for ~76 employees.Benefits AdministrationAdministers the Company’s benefits plans, including the annual renewal/assessment process, broker communications, change recommendations, open enrollment communication/administration and COBRA administration.Ongoing Employee Support and InquiriesActs as first line of contact for employees to engage and discuss confidential issues, payroll questions, benefits questions, policy clarifications and other topics requiring assistance.Employee RelationsSupports and coaches leadership throughout all aspects of performance management including performance reviews / appraisals, corrective actions, counseling techniques, performance goals / plans, and information related to training.Manages employee relations issues, such as harassment allegations, workplace complaints, or other employee concerns.Designs and implements employee retention strategies.Manages all aspects of work-related injuries/illnesses, including filing of worker’s compensation claims with SAIF and coordination of the return-to-duty/modified duty process.Leave ManagementManages all leaves of absence (FMLA/OFLA, disability, workers comp, etc.), including the coordination of disability claims with the carrier when applicable.Safety ManagementParticipates as a member of the Safety Committee and works in conjunction with leadership in the determination and delivery of safety training.OffboardingManages the off-boarding process to ensure final pay, benefits management and COBRA processes are executed timely and accurately.Compliance Management and Professional SkillsPromptly and accurately processes all employment verifications unemployment claims and garnishments/enforcement orders.Maintains all employment records, utilizing a combination of Human Resources Information System (HRIS) software (Paycom) and physical files.
