Job summary

Qualifications

• Associate degree in HR, Business, or related field or equivalent HR work experience.
• Bachelor’s degree in HR/Business or related field or HR certifications preferred.
• Experience with HRIS and payroll processes is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Verify attendance and time-off in payroll system and approve time cards bi-weekly.
• Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires and offboarding for terminations.
• Monitor performance review process.
• Schedule and track safety training.
• Manage job postings, recruitment, and application tracking including interviews.
• Build relationships with local schools and college career departments.
• Administer benefits program including open enrollment, claims resolution, enrollments, term changes, and audits; act as Privacy Officer for PHI.
• Create and maintain HRIS records and personnel files.
• Ensure compliance with FMLA, EEO, AAP, I-9 guidelines.
• Update and write company policies.
• Investigate safety incidents and file reports with OSHA/Workplace insurance.
• Provide guidance on policies and procedures.
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends and employment regulations.

Our Human Resources Generalist provides tremendous support to HMC’s management and employees in all steps of the employment cycle.

Primary Functions for this position include:

• Verify attendance and time off program according to company policy, approve time cards for payroll bi-weekly
• Conduct onboarding and orientation for new hires and off boarding for terminations
• Monitor performance review process
• Schedule and track employee safety training
• Manage job postings, recruitment, and application tracking process, including conducting interviews
• Build and maintain relationships with local schools and college career departments
• Administer company benefits program

  • Enrollments, terminations, qualifying event changes
  • Act as Privacy Officer for all Protected Health Information (PHI)
• Create and maintain Human Resources Information System records, personnel files, and databases
• Ensure compliance with FMLA, EEO, AAP, I-9 guidelines and regulations
• Update and write company policies
• Investigate and document safety incidents, filing reports with OSHA and Work’s Compensation insurance as required
• Provide guidance to employees and management on policies and procedures
• Maintain knowledge of industry trends, employment legislation and regulations
• Other duties required to maintain the smooth function of the department
