  • Experience supporting remote or distributed teams across multiple states
  • Strong judgment, discretion, and communication skills when handling confidential employee matters
  • Highly organized project manager who can manage recurring programs and shifting priorities with minimal oversight
  • Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, psychology, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience
  • Bonus: SHRM-CP or PHR certification; experience with Workday, BambooHR, Rippling, Greenhouse, Culture Amp, or multi-state employment compliance

Responsibilities

  • Manage onboarding, offboarding, employee changes, and personnel documentation through Workday, BambooHR, or a comparable HRIS
  • Partner with managers on employee relations, performance conversations, leave administration, and policy interpretation
  • Maintain accurate employee records, reporting structures, compensation data, and compliance documentation across HR systems
  • Coordinate payroll, benefits, and leave processes with Finance, payroll vendors, and benefits administrators
  • Support annual programs including performance reviews, compensation cycles, engagement surveys, and compliance training
  • Develop and document scalable HR workflows using tools such as Slack, Google Workspace, Jira, and Notion
  • Track people metrics and prepare reports on headcount, turnover, onboarding progress, and employee-support trends

About The Role

The HR Generalist supports the full employee lifecycle for a distributed technology organization, with primary ownership of HR operations, employee relations, onboarding, compliance, and people-program execution. The role partners with engineering, product, IT, and business leaders across a cloud-based software environment.

This role matters because reliable people operations enable technical teams to scale without losing clarity, consistency, or trust. The HR Generalist will maintain accurate employee data in systems such as Workday or BambooHR, improve core processes, and turn people policies into a practical employee experience across remote teams.

Key Responsibilities
