Job summary

Ventek Solutions seeks an HR Generalist to join our Owosso, MI manufacturing plant. This onsite role supports HR and Safety programs five days a week and partners with plant management.

You will handle payroll details, benefits, onboarding, staff development, and policy administration while collaborating with Talent Acquisition on staffing needs and job descriptions. Strong communication and manufacturing HR experience are a plus.

Qualifications

• Three+ years in HR or related area with focus on employee relations and policy administration.
• Manufacturing experience preferred.
• Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent experience.
• Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support to operations teams and administer company policies and programs.
• Lead employee engagement and culture activities.
• Ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll details for timely processing.
• Monitor local wage practices and employment trends.
• Collaborate with managers and Talent Acquisition on staffing needs, postings, interviews and selection.

• Be point of contact for benefits programs, enrollment and questions.
• Partner with leadership on coaching, development, and investigations.
• Manage leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA and workers' comp.
• Maintain knowledge of laws; recommend policy updates as needed.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team in our Owosso, MI manufacturing plant.

Summary: The HR Generalist is an essential partner to our Owosso, MI Operations team and will provide comprehensive HR and Safety program support to plant management. The role is onsite five days a week. The role will primarily support the Owosso plant but will also lead and provide support with Ventek HR-related projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides HR support to the operations teams, including administering company policies, procedures and programs.
• Leads and supports employee engagement and culture activities
• Responsible for ensuring accurate timekeeping and payroll details for timely payroll processing.
• Actively monitors the local market to understand wage practices and employment trends.
• Work with Managers and corporate Talent Acquisition to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions. Facilitates hiring process for the plant, including managing job postings, recruiting, interviewing and selecting talent.
• Conducts employee onboarding, training and assists management with monitoring performance according to Ventek standards.
• Act as point of contact for benefit programs, including open enrollment communication, benefits enrollment, general plan questions and resolving benefit issues.
• Partners with leadership on coaching, development, employee relations matters and investigations as needed.
• Manages leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation matters.
• Maintains working knowledge of existing and new Federal, State and Local laws and regulations affecting the workforce. Makes recommendations as needed to update policies and procedures.
• Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications:

• A minimum of three years’ experience working in one or more functional areas of Human Resources or a related area, with at least two years’ experience with Employee Relations, Policy and Procedure administration, safety, compliance, and/or related HR Generalist experience is preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Operationally proficient with Microsoft office suite and applicant tracking systems.
• Must be an effective communicator and builds relationships across functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
