Job summary

Ventek Solutions in Shelbyville, KY is seeking an HR Generalist to partner with the Operations team and provide comprehensive HR support onsite five days a week.

The role will focus on policies, employee relations, safety, payroll, benefits, and staffing in a manufacturing environment, with collaboration across plant leadership and corporate HR. A Bachelor's degree and practical HR experience are preferred.

Qualifications

• Three years of HR experience including employee relations, policy administration, safety/compliance, and related HR Generalist duties.
• Experience in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Spanish bilingual skills are preferred for this role.

Responsibilities

• Provide HR support to the operations teams, administering company policies, procedures and programs.
• Lead and support employee engagement and culture activities.
• Oversee plant safety initiatives, culture and training; ensure accurate timekeeping and payroll processing.
• Coordinate staffing with corporate Talent Acquisition and manage job postings, recruiting, interviewing and selection of talent for the plant.
• Conduct onboarding, training and performance monitoring in line with Ventek standards.

As we continue to grow, we are looking for a HR Generalist to join our team in our Shelbyville, KY manufacturing plant.

Summary

The HR Generalist is an essential partner to our Shelbyville, KY Operations team and will provide comprehensive HR support to plant management. The role is onsite five days a week. The role will primarily support the Shelbyville plant, but will also lead and provide support with Ventek HR-related projects as needed.

Key Responsibilities

• Provides HR support to the operations teams, including administering company policies, procedures and programs.
• Leads and supports employee engagement and culture activities
• Responsible for leading plant safety initiatives, culture and training.
• Responsible for ensuring accurate timekeeping and payroll details for timely payroll processing.
• Actively monitors the local market to understand wage practices and employment trends.
• Works with Managers and corporate Talent Acquisition to determine staffing needs and develop job descriptions. Facilitates hiring process for the plant, including manage job postings, recruiting, interviewing and selecting talent.
• Conducts employee onboarding, training and assists management with monitoring performance according to Ventek standards.
• Maintains employment related documentation
• Act as point of contact for benefit programs, including open enrollment communication, benefits enrollment, general plan questions and resolving benefit issues.
• Partners with leadership on coaching, development, employee relations matters and investigations as needed.
• Manages leave of absence requests including FMLA, ADA and Worker’s Compensation matters.
• Maintains working knowledge of existing and new Federal, State and Local laws and regulations affecting the workforce. Makes recommendations as needed to update policies and procedures.
• Performs other similar or related duties as requested or assigned.

Minimum Qualifications

• A minimum of three years’ experience working in one or more functional areas of Human Resources or a related area, with at least two years’ experience with Employee Relations, Policy and Procedure administration, safety, compliance, and/or related HR Generalist experience is preferred. Experience working in a manufacturing setting is preferred.
• Operationally proficient with Microsoft office suite and applicant tracking systems.
• Bilingual (Spanish) speaking/writing skills preferred.
• Must be an effective communicator and builds relationships across functions.
• Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business, or a related field preferred. A combination of education and experience may be substituted for the education requirement.
