Job summary

Helm Bank USA is seeking a seasoned Human Resources Generalist – Officer to lead HR operations, payroll, and HRIS management within our Miami, FL facility. The role drives compliance, employee lifecycle processes, and regulatory training while partnering with leadership to improve the employee experience and operational efficiency.

The ideal candidate has a Master’s in HR or related field, 10+ years in HR operations, and bilingual English/Spanish skills to support a diverse workforce.

Qualifications

  • Master’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field.
  • SHRM-CP or PHR certification preferred; advanced certifications (SHRM-SCP/SPHR) are a plus.
  • Minimum of 10 years progressive HR experience, strongly emphasizing HR operations.
  • Experience in banking or financial services preferred.
  • Fluency in English and Spanish (bilingual) required.
  • Experience with HRIS implementation and optimization.
  • Strong project management and operational excellence orientation.

Responsibilities

  • Manage HR operations, including payroll, HRIS, compliance, and employee data analytics.
  • Oversee time and attendance tracking, PTO/absence, and manager approvals.
  • Ensure accurate and compliant payroll processing and operational controls.
  • Maintain HRIS functionality, data integrity, reporting, and system optimization.
  • Ensure compliance with employment laws, regulatory requirements, and internal policies; maintain accurate records.
  • Lead the recruitment process from requisition inception to posting, screening, interviewing, and onboarding.
  • Conduct HR audits and regulatory reporting (ACA, non-discrimination testing, internal/external audits).
  • Monitor full scope of performance management, partnering with managers on performance and development.
  • Serve as subject‑matter resource for HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Coordinate and track training programs, ensuring completion and compliance.
  • Support development and implementation of HR policies, procedures, and programs.
  • Deliver HR reporting, metrics, and documentation to support audits, leadership, and decision‑making.
  • Drive process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency initiatives.
  • Partner cross‑functionally to align HR operations with business needs and strategic initiatives.
