Paycom - ATS in La Habra, CA is seeking a Human Resources Generalist to support recruiting, payroll, benefits, and employee relations in a manufacturing setting.

You will partner with the HR Manager, manage leave requests, maintain HRIS data in Paycom, and ensure compliance with federal and state laws while fostering strong employee relations.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field is required.
  • Experience in HR Generalist role, preferably in manufacturing.
  • Experience with HRIS/Payroll systems (Paycom a plus).

Responsibilities

  • Manages full-cycle HR processes for hourly positions and staffing goals.
  • Administers leaves of absence and benefits, ensuring regulatory compliance.
  • Maintains HRIS data and generates reports; coordinates with HR Manager.

General SummaryThe primary role of Human Resources Generalist is to perform a variety of Human Resources processes, including employee relations, payroll, recruiting, leaves of absence and benefit administration, while maintaining compliance with all federal, state and local laws and regulation. As a member of the Human Resources team, the Human Resources Generalist works to build relationships throughout all levels of the organization. The HR Generalist will support and update the Human Resources Manager on HR related matters, as necessary.Major Duties and Responsibilities Include: (But not limited to the following)RecruitingManages full-cycle recruiting process for hourly positions to meet the various staffing goals.Works with hiring managers and interview teams to ensure job requirements and expectations are clearly understood and candidates are assessed against appropriate criteria.Regular follow-up with the respective hiring managers and candidates to ensure timeliness of recruitment process.Develops multiple sources for qualified candidates, including job boards, staffing agencies, referral program, networks.Maintains close contact with temporary service providers to ensure quality service levels are achieved.BenefitsManagement of all company leaves of absence, including FMLA, personal leave, military leave, jury duty, bereavement leave, etc. Intake of leave requests, sending required notices, forms and letters, and determining leave eligibility. Ensure federal and state compliance of all leaves, including certification of FMLA leaves.Serve as primary point of contact for and manage all leave inquiries, educating employees and managers on the leave process and related policies.Assist employees with questions about benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, FSA, etc.General Human ResourcesRecord keeping and tracking of point assignment per company policies to employees. Will draft corrective action form and will coordinate with the supervisor on the timing of presenting the corrective action. When needed, present the corrective action forms to the employee.Reconcile Labor Reports between our HRIS system (Paycom) and the HR portion of our MRP system (Flex).Inputs and maintains employee data in the HRIS system such as hires, promotions, transfers, and terminations. Prepares regular and special reporting using Paycom when needed.Maintain employee training records.Prepares employee communication documents including new hire, disability, benefit, separation notices and related documentation. Assists in the dissemination and collection of data and forms.Establish credibility throughout the organization with management and the associates in order to be an effective listener and problem solver of people issues.Creates meeting schedules and attendance rosters.Maintains New Employee programs and conducts New Hire and Benefit Orientations and other training as needed.Supports employees on all shifts with issues or concerns that may arise.Assists in planning and organizing company events and assists in maintaining good employee relations.Work on special projects as required.Performs other duties as needed.PayrollProcesses bi-weekly payroll for hourly employees; will act as back-up to processing salary employee payroll.Reviews timesheets and audits information to ensure compliance with policies/procedures.Sends out timecard reminders.Responds to payroll-related inquiries from management and employees.QualificationsKnowledge of:Federal, State and local labor regulationsSafe lifting and material handling techniques used in the manufacturing environmentAbility to:Bilingual (Spanish) is requiredWork in a fast-paced environment and to meet deadlinesWork in a manufacturing environment with minimal supervision.Demonstrate a proactive approach to identify and resolve HR and Benefits administration issues.Strong problem solving and analytical skillsInitiates, pursues, develops, and influences othersAbility to meet deadlines on a multitude of concurrent tasks, while maintaining attention to detail and integrity of work.Team player who works collaboratively and effectively with othersUnderstanding of Human Resource related laws and regulations such as EEO, ADA, FLSA, NLRA, FMLA, etc.Strong written/oral communication and interpersonal skillsReacts well under pressureAccepts responsibility for own actions; Follows through on commitmentsHighly motivated, self-starterProficient PC skills and general knowledge of Paycom, Microsoft Office Suite preferredExperience and EducationBachelor’s degree in Business, Human Resources, or related field (BA/BS) or a combination of experience and education.Previous HR Generalist experience in a manufacturing environment.Must have experience using an integrated HR/Payroll system. Paycom experience a plus.Diverse experience in a range of administrative areas of responsibility.
