Job summary

Work World is hiring an organized HR Generalist to support the Senior HR Manager and oversee day-to-day HR operations. This remote role requires residence in CO (with CA, NV, OR and WA as eligible) and occasional travel to store locations.

You will own onboarding, I-9s, benefits, payroll support, LOA/ADA administration, employee relations, and HR data integrity while ensuring multi-state compliance. A proactive, people-focused approach is essential.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or equivalent required.
• 2+ years of HR experience.
• Multi-state HR experience (California & Washington preferred).
• Hands-on experience with Leave of Absence and ADA processes.
• Strong background in HR operations and employee relations.
• Willingness to travel to store locations and corporate HQ.

Responsibilities

• HR Operations: Manage daily HR workflows and documentation.
• Talent Acquisition & Onboarding: Own end-to-end onboarding and I-9/compliance.
• Employee Relations & Communication: Serve as first HR contact for employees and managers.
• Engagement & Performance Support: Coordinate performance reviews and employee surveys.
• Benefits & Payroll: Administer benefits enrollments and payroll support.
• Compliance, HRIS & Auditing: Audit HRIS data and ensure state compliance.
• Leave of Absence & ADA Administration: Administer LOA programs and accommodations.
• Cross-Functional Support: Partner with IT and Finance; manage HR inbox and projects.

Now Hiring: HR Generalist

Job Type: Full-time

Location: Remote – Must reside in NV, CA, CO, OR or WA (occasional travel to store locations required)

Compensation: $70K-$81K (BOE)

We’re looking for an organized, people-focused HR Generalist to support our Senior HR Manager and keep day-to-day HR operations running smoothly. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys being the go-to HR resource, thrives in a fast-paced environment, and wants to make a real impact on the employee experience. While the Senior HR Manager focuses on strategy, culture, and big-picture initiatives, you’ll own the execution of core HR processes that keep everything moving.

What You’ll be Doing:

HR Operations

• Manage daily HR workflows, documentation, and coordination with Operations


• Maintain accurate employee records and process changes in a timely manner

Talent Acquisition & Onboarding

• Own end-to-end onboarding and ensure new hire data accuracy


• Manage I-9s, hiring compliance, and troubleshoot system issues

Employee Relations & Communication

• Serve as the first point of contact for employees and managers on HR questions


• Support employee relations matters by gathering information, documenting events, and escalating as needed


• Conduct exit interviews and assist with workplace investigations

Engagement & Performance Support

• Coordinate performance review cycles


• Support engagement initiatives and employee surveys, helping turn feedback into action

Benefits & Payroll Support

• Administer benefits enrollments and qualifying life events (QLEs)


• Support payroll processing and ACA compliance

Compliance, HRIS & Auditing

• Perform routine audits of HRIS data and documentation


• Ensure compliance across multiple states and maintain regulatory accuracy

Leave of Absence & ADA Administration

• Administer LOA programs (FMLA, CFRA, PDL, WA PFML)


• Manage the ADA interactive process and coordinate accommodations

Cross-Functional Support

• Partner with IT on system access


• Provide HR data to Finance


• Manage the HR inbox, invoicing, and support HR projects

What You’ll Need:

• High School Diploma


• 2+ years of HR experience


• Multi-state HR experience (California & Washington preferred)


• Hands-on experience with Leave of Absence and ADA processes


• Strong background in HR operations and employee relations


• Ability to Travel to store locations and corporate headquarters

Preferred

• Bachelor’s degree


• HRIS experience


• PHR or SHRM-CP certification


• Experience with payroll, benefits, and ACA compliance
