Responsibilities

  • Maintain accurate employee records in required systems and files, including new hires, transfers, promotions, and terminations.
  • Serve as first point of contact for employee inquiries via email or phone; research and update records.
  • Communicate with all levels of staff, ensuring privacy and HR policy compliance.
  • Generate HR reports and analyze metrics using the HRIS system.
  • Develop HR training materials and communications, e.g., HIP presentations and newsletters.
  • Assist with benefit programs, enrollments, changes, and terminations.
  • Support department goals and implement new processes to improve efficiency.
  • Perform internal HR audits and ensure data integrity and compliance.

We are currently seeking an energetic and talented individual to join our team as a Human Resources Generalist in our Corporate Office located in Chicago. The Human Resources Generalist is a key professional responsible for executing a broad range of HR duties, working closely with HR Management to support the employee lifecycle and foster a positive workplace. These duties include but are not limited to record maintenance, benefit administration, training, onboarding, policy implementation, and employment law compliance. Responsibilities


  • Manage accurate and timely employee records in all required systems and personnel files, including the accurate processing of new hires, transfers, promotions, rate changes, disciplinary actions, and terminations.

  • Serve as a primary point of contact for employee inquiries, whether via email or phone call. This includes completing research, coordinating investigations, and accurately updating system records.

  • Communicate timely and efficiently with all levels of employees, responding to requests by individuals ranging from jobsite personnel to Business Group Leaders and Ownership in a professional manner, understanding legal restrictions regarding Personal Protected Information.

  • Generate reports of various topics through HRIS system and analyze HR metrics as needed, including merging data, completing V-looks, etc. to obtain necessary information.

  • Develop HR training material, e.g. HIP presentations, and HR newsletter articles.

  • Assist with employee benefit programs, including communication, enrollments, changes, and terminations ensuring accuracy and compliance.

  • Participate in developing and executing department goals, making suggestions as to new processes that could help improve the department and handle any assigned projects that arise from these suggestions as new goals.

  • Complete various internal HR Audits as required, which may include Form I-9 reviews, ensuring compliance and data integrity.

  • Maintain compliance with federal and state regulations concerning employment, reviewing personnel actions to meet minimum wage requirements and proper completion of I 9, E-Verify, Federal W-4, and State tax forms (when applicable).

  • Perform other related duties as required and assigned.


Qualifications


  • Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources, or 3-5 years of Human Resources work experience

  • 1-3 years' Workday experience preferred.

  • Good written and verbal communication skills.

  • Proven ability to effectively multi-task, prioritize, and mange demands in a dynamic, high-volume environment.

  • Proficient with Microsoft Office.

  • Solid knowledge of HR principles and current federal and state labor laws.

  • Comfortable working in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, demonstrating strong critical thinking and problem-solving abilities.

  • High Level of discretion and ability to handle confidential information with integrity.

  • Hourly Rate: $28/HR - $42/HR
