Job summary

Topaz HR is seeking a hands-on HR Generalist to support Carteret, NJ operations in manufacturing, packaging, and distribution. You will partner with employees and leadership across teams to handle employee relations, onboarding, performance management, and compliance.

The role requires 3+ years of HR experience in a high-volume environment and a strong knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws. This full-time position offers an opportunity to contribute to HR operations and workforce

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience.
• Experience in manufacturing/warehouse/logistics or high-volume operations preferred.
• Strong employee relations, investigations, and performance management experience.
• Working knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws.
• Bachelor's degree in HR, business administration, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

• Provide day-to-day HR guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers.
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and documentation.
• Advise managers on performance management, attendance, policy interpretation, and employee communication.
• Support hiring, onboarding, orientation, employee changes, and offboarding.
• Coordinate leaves, accommodations, workers' compensation, and benefits matters.
• Maintain accurate employee records, HRIS information, and HR documentation.
• Support employee engagement, retention, training, and workforce initiatives.
• Ensure HR practices align with federal, New Jersey, and local employment requirements.

Position Overview

A growing organization in the packaging, manufacturing, distribution, and supply-chain industry is seeking a hands‑on HR Generalist to support its Carteret, NJ operations. This role will partner with employees and management across operational, warehouse, and administrative teams, supporting employee relations, performance management, onboarding, compliance, leave administration, and general HR operations

Key Responsibilities

• Provide day‑to‑day HR guidance to employees, supervisors, and managers
• Manage employee relations matters, including investigations, conflict resolution, corrective action, and documentation
• Advise managers on performance management, attendance, policy interpretation, and employee communication

Qualifications

• 3+ years of progressive Human Resources experience
• Experience supporting manufacturing, warehouse, distribution, logistics, or another high-volume operational environment preferred
• Strong employee relations, investigation, and performance management experience
• Working knowledge of federal and New Jersey employment laws
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills
• Ability to handle confidential and sensitive matters with sound judgment
• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred

Compensation & Benefits

• $65,000–$95,000 annually, based on experience and qualifications
• Full‑time position based in Carteret, NJ
