Job summary

Mid-States Bolt & Screw in Burton, MI is seeking a dynamic HR Generalist to join our leadership-driven team. This primarily on-site role offers occasional hybrid flexibility and direct collaboration with our VP of Human Resources to strengthen HR programs, support leaders and employees, and scale our HR function.

You’ll own key responsibilities from onboarding and engagement to performance management, training, and safety initiatives, while helping integrate new acquisitions and streamline HR

Qualifications

• 5+ years of progressive HR Generalist experience.
• Strong employee relations experience and knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Excellent communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Demonstrates initiative, works independently, and follows through.
• Collaborative, approachable professional who enjoys supporting employees and coaching managers.
• Experience in distribution, manufacturing, multi-location operations, or acquisition integration is a plus.
• Bachelor's degree in HR or a related field; PHR/SHRM-CP certification is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Be a trusted HR partner: support employees and managers with employee relations, performance management, workplace concerns, and day-to-day HR needs.
• Elevate the employee experience: lead onboarding, employee engagement, retention, and recognition initiatives.
• Develop our people and leaders: coordinate performance evaluations, training, leadership development, and safety initiatives.
• Support our growth: onboard acquired employees, manage benefits transitions, HR systems, and employee communications.
• Keep HR running smoothly: core HR operations, documentation, leave administration, compliance, and HR systems.
• Identify opportunities to streamline processes and leverage technology for consistent HR practices across locations.

What You'll Do

• Make things better: Identify opportunities to streamline processes, leverage technology, and create consistent, efficient HR practices across our locations.

What We're Looking For
