Job summary

CUSTOM HOUSE HOTEL LP in Monterey, CA is seeking a Director of Human Resources to lead HR strategy, coaching, and policy compliance across the property. You will partner with the executive team to align HR initiatives with business objectives and protect the confidentiality of employee information.

Responsibilities include talent acquisition, employee relations, training, benefits support, HRIS reporting, and safety programs.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field required.
• Professional HR certification (e.g., SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR) is preferred.
• Must demonstrate fluency in Word, Excel, and Email programs.

Responsibilities

• Leadership and Strategy: Collaborate with Executive team to implement HR initiatives focused on recruitment, retention, and development.
• Talent Management and Acquisition: Oversee talent acquisition, workforce planning, interviewing, and onboarding.
• Employee Relations: Handle disciplinary actions and performance improvement plans; uphold open-door policy.
• Compliance and Policy Management: Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws; update handbooks.
• Training and Development: Develop training programs on compliance and management development; lead new hire orientation.
• Benefits Administration: Oversee benefits enrollment and education; support payroll processes.
• HRIS and Reporting: Maintain HRIS; prepare reports on turnover, recruitment activity, and demographics.
• Safety and Workers' Compensation: Promote workplace safety; manage claims and return-to-work plans.
