Job description

The HR Director will be responsible for employee relations, compliance, labour management, recruiting, training, and HR systems, with limited administrative support.

Key Activities

• Model and promote a servant leadership philosophy.
• Build trust with frontline employees, supervisors, and leadership teams.
• Foster an adaptable HR function supporting operational needs.
• Drive engagement, retention, and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Handle employee relations, investigations, discipline, and terminations.
• Coach supervisors on effective people leadership and documentation.
• Promote a respectful and inclusive workplace culture.
• Ensure compliance with employment laws and regulations.
• Manage audits, inquiries, and regulatory reporting.
• Work with the Safety Director on workers’ compensation and ensuring employee safety
• Handle unemployment, DOL inquiries, FMLA/NE leave notices, and programs.
• Lead recruiting and hiring for hourly and salaried roles.
• Develop onboarding, training, and retention programs.
• Partner with operations on workforce planning.
• Manage compensation and benefits programs.
• Oversee HRIS and personnel records.
• Develop HR policies and handbook updates.

Preferred Skills

• SHRM or PHR/SPHR certification.
• Experience in manufacturing environments in a Director role
• Bilingual in English and Spanish is highly desired.

Educations & Experience

• Bachelor’s degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field.
• 7–12+ years of HR leadership experience in manufacturing or industrial environments.
• Strong knowledge of employment law and employee relations.
