Job summary

City of Farmington is seeking an experienced HR leader to join as Deputy Director of Human Resources. This hands-on role leads HR operations across the organization, handling employee relations, classification and compensation, benefits administration, recruitment, risk management, and citywide projects.

Under the Human Resources Director, you will oversee daily HR functions, supervise staff, ensure legal compliance, and serve as Acting HR Director when needed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Public Administration, Business Administration, Management, or related field.
• Three years of progressively responsible HR experience.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Administer daily HR operations including recruitment, onboarding, employee relations, benefits, and HRIS.
• Oversee records retention and compliance with laws and policies.
• Serve as Acting HR Director in Director's absence.
• Coordinate training and organizational development.
• Prepare reports and monitor HR metrics.
