Job summary

New Freedom is seeking an HR Coordinator to provide essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources team in our Phoenix-area offices. This role helps manage onboarding, offboarding, benefits administration, compliance, training initiatives, HR reporting, and daily employee support.

You’ll be a key resource for staff, helping maintain a positive employee experience across the employment lifecycle while upholding confidentiality and HR best practices.

Qualifications

  • Minimum one year in an HR support or HR Coordinator role.
  • Knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment regulations.
  • Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, FLSA, PWFA, and employment law compliance requirements.
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong communication, organization, confidentiality, and problem-solving skills.

Responsibilities

  • Support onboarding and offboarding processes, including pre-employment requirements, new hire paperwork, orientations, and exit procedures.
  • Serve as a resource for employee questions regarding benefits, forms, policies, and HR processes.
  • Assist with employee engagement initiatives, recognition programs, events, and town hall meetings.
  • Support benefits administration, enrollments, audits, open enrollment activities, and employee communications.
  • Coordinate training programs, onboarding experiences, and employee development initiatives.
  • Assist with audits, credential tracking, policy administration, and regulatory compliance efforts.

About the Role

The HR Coordinator provides essential administrative and operational support to the Human Resources department while helping ensure a positive employee experience throughout the employment lifecycle. This role supports onboarding, offboarding, employee engagement, benefits administration, compliance activities, training initiatives, HR reporting, and day-to-day employee support. The HR Coordinator serves as a key resource for employees and an important contributor to maintaining an efficient, compliant, and people-focused HR function.

What You’ll Be Responsible For
  • Supporting employee onboarding and offboarding processes, including pre-employment requirements, new hire paperwork, orientations, and exit procedures

What We’re Looking For
  • High school diploma or GED. [NF - HR Co...on 4.14.26 | Word]
  • One or more years of experience in an HR support or HR Coordinator role
  • Strong knowledge of HR principles, practices, and employment regulations
  • Working knowledge of FMLA, ADA, FLSA, PWFA, and employment law compliance requirements
  • Advanced proficiency with HRIS systems and Microsoft Office applications
  • Strong communication, organization, critical-thinking, and problem-solving skills
  • Strong flexibility and adaptability
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism when handling sensitive employee information.
  • Two or more years of Human Resources experience preferred
  • Experience in behavioral health, healthcare, or human services environments preferred
  • Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field preferred
  • Professional HR certification such as SHRM-CP, SHRM-SCP, PHR, or SPHR preferred
