Job summary

Great Bay Kids is seeking an onsite Human Resources Coordinator in Portsmouth, NH to support day-to-day people operations and help implement clear HR practices for a positive workplace culture.

Reporting to the Director of Staffing, you will handle HR compliance, recruiting, onboarding, and employee relations, while promoting fair and respectful employment practices across the organization.

Qualifications

• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in HR or related field.
• 2–4 years in an HR, administrative, or people-operations role.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Working knowledge of employment laws and HR best practices.
• Ability to handle confidential information with discretion and professionalism.

Responsibilities

• Own HR compliance and risk management.
• Assist with federal and state labor law compliance and audits.
• Support benefits administration and training tracking.
• Be main contact for staff HR questions and guidance to leaders on relations documentation.
• Lead end-to-end interview process and onboarding; post job openings and coordinate interviews.
• Attend job fairs and hiring events; manage background and reference checks.
