Overview

The Miami Job Corps Center is hiring a Human Resources Coordinator that provides administrative and technical support to the Center’s Human Resources function. The role involves analyzing human resources policy and procedures, determining applicant eligibility, resolving issues with discretion, and maintaining strict confidentiality.

Responsibilities
  • Follow integrity guidelines and ensure no manipulation of student data.
  • Prepare and post all vacancies with internal and external sources and determine applicant eligibility.
  • Perform searches for qualified candidates using databases, networking, internet recruiting resources, cold calls, media, recruiting firms, employee referrals, and job fairs.
  • Receive and maintain files of employment applications and resumes.
  • Review employment applications and screen applicants to evaluate work history, education, training, job skills, compensation needs, and other qualifications.
  • Schedule interviews with hiring managers.
  • Review and evaluate applicant qualifications or eligibility for specified licensing according to established guidelines and designated licensing codes.
  • Administer pre‑employment tests.
  • Conduct reference and background checks on final applicants.
  • Maintain applicant flow log.
  • Complete weekly report on employment activity.
  • Distribute information on and explain benefits programs such as health, dental, life, disability, and 401K to employees.
  • Verify and complete benefits enrollment forms.
  • Send enrollment information to plan administrator and maintain files on enrollment forms and other documentation.
  • Collect and maintain data on personnel for HRIS and reporting purposes.
  • Reconcile monthly insurance and drug screen billing.
  • Assist department heads in developing staff training and orientation programs.
  • Process new‑hire paperwork, establish and maintain employee files, ensuring they are current and accurate in both the individual personnel file and HRIS.
  • Assist with conducting orientation meetings for new staff.
  • Type reports, memoranda, correspondence, performance appraisals, and other text as required.
  • Proofread copy and correct grammar, punctuation, spelling, and numerical errors.
  • Assist with employee recognition and certificates.
  • Monitor staff mentoring program.
  • Provide Student Sexual Harassment Identification and Prevention Training to new student inputs on a weekly basis.
  • Produce quality work and complete assignments in a thorough, timely and accurate manner.
  • Maintain appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.
  • Plan, prioritize, and organize assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Understand and apply job knowledge to effectively complete all required responsibilities and proactively maintain necessary skills.
  • Mentor, monitor, and model the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provide high‑quality supervision and management for the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence student behavior.
  • Perform quality programs and services for students, ensuring needs are met and pursuing continuous improvement.
  • Exchange ideas and information orally and in writing, contribute meaningfully to group efforts with relevant ideas and knowledge, and provide timely information to DOL/Company when requested.
  • Effectively articulate thoughts, identify problems, analyze causes, evaluate solutions prior to action, and follow up to ensure prompt and appropriate resolution.
  • Work in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
  • Accept direction and supervision from the Center Director/Center Duty Officer/Shift Manager, performing assignments across departments as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
