Job summary

Adams and Associates, Inc. in Miami Gardens, FL is seeking a Full-Time Food Service Assistant to support meal preparation and student dining operations.

You will assist with cooking, serving, cleaning and maintaining sanitary food areas while delivering friendly customer service. Requirements include a High School Diploma or equivalent, prior food service experience preferred, and the ability to obtain ServSafe credentials.

Qualifications

  • High School Diploma or equivalent required; degree or certification from an accredited or relevant certified training program or school preferred.
  • Previous experience in food service preferred.
  • Must be able to obtain ServSafe credentials.
  • Physical requirements include sitting, standing, climbing, walking, lifting, pulling, pushing, carrying, reaching, stooping, and crouching. Demonstrates the ability to lift 40 pounds or assess the lift load in order to request assistance.

Responsibilities

  • Assists in the preparation and presentation of quality food and beverages for consumption by students.
  • Provides good customer service skills and engages young adults.
  • Assists in kitchen clean‑up, washing dishes, cleaning and sanitizing the food preparation area to ensure sanitation and cleanliness of all food service areas.
  • Transports finished meals from preparation area to serving line and keeps serving counters stocked with prepared food.
  • Produces quality work and assignments in a thorough, timely, and accurate manner.
  • Maintains appropriate personal attendance, accountability and work productivity standards.
  • Plans, prioritizes, and organizes assignments to meet established goals and deadlines.
  • Applies job knowledge to effectively complete all required responsibilities and proactively maintains required skills.
  • Mentors, monitors, and models the Career Success Standards as required by the PRH.
  • Provides high‑quality supervision and management for the student population, taking swift and appropriate action to positively influence student behavior.
  • Ensures student needs are met and pursues continuous improvement of services.
  • Communicates ideas and information clearly, both orally and in writing, and contributes meaningfully to group efforts.
  • Analyzes problems, evaluates appropriate solutions, follows up to ensure corrective action, and ensures problems are satisfactorily resolved.
  • Works in partnership with staff from all departments to ensure effective supervision and services for students.
  • Accepts direction and supervision from the Center Director, Duty Officer, or Shift Manager and may temporarily perform job responsibilities of other departments.
  • Other duties as assigned.
