Rockaway Care Center in Far Rockaway, NY, is hiring an HR Coordinator for a full-time role. The position offers $28–$33 per hour, Monday–Friday, with benefits including health and dental insurance, paid time off, holidays, and a 401(k).

You will post jobs, conduct interviews, onboard new hires, coordinate screenings, manage employee files, and assist with leaves and benefits enrollment. The role requires confidentiality and strong organizational skills.

Qualifications

• 1+ years of HR experience, preferably in healthcare or nursing facilities.
• Familiarity with NY DOH requirements, CHRC, or exclusion screening is a bonus.
• Experience in a union environment is a plus.
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
• Discretion and ability to handle confidential information.

Responsabilités

• Post jobs, schedule interviews, and welcome new hires.
• Run onboarding and orientation including I-9s and new hire paperwork.
• Coordinate pre-employment screening like CHRC fingerprinting and license verification.
• Maintain employee files and track license renewals, health assessments, and trainings.
• Manage LOA, Disability, FMLA, and Workers Comp processes.
• Assist staff with questions and support payroll paperwork.

HR Coordinator – Rockaway Care Center, Far Rockaway, NY

We’re a skilled nursing and rehabilitation facility caring for long-term residents and short-term rehab patients. We believe that when we take care of our staff, they take care of our residents, and our HR Coordinator is a big part of that.

What you’ll do:

• Help hire great people by posting jobs, scheduling interviews, and welcoming new hires
• Run onboarding and orientation, including I-9s and new hire paperwork
• Coordinate pre-employment screening like CHRC fingerprinting, exclusion checks, and license and certification verification (including the NY Nurse Aide Registry)
• Keep employee files complete and survey-ready, tracking license renewals, health assessments, and in-service trainings
• LOA's, Disability, FMLA, Workers Compensation
• Be the friendly go-to person for staff questions
• Support managers with timekeeping and payroll paperwork
• Help track leaves of absence and benefits enrollment
• Help plan employee recognition and staff events

What we’re looking for:

• 1+ years of HR experience (nursing home or healthcare experience is a big plus!)
• Familiarity with NY DOH requirements, CHRC, or exclusion screening is a bonus
• Experience in a union environment is a plus
• Super organized and great with details
• Warm, professional, and able to keep things confidential
• Comfortable with Microsoft Office
• Bilingual is a bonus!
