Position Overview

The HR Coordinator at Horwitz plays a crucial role in delivering exceptional customer service while embodying our core values of Safety, Accountability, Professionalism, Motivation, a Can-Do attitude, and Curiosity.

The HR Coordinator is responsible for performing a wide range of administrative tasks and services to ensure the smooth and efficient handling of HR processes, including new hire onboarding, employee data management, and event coordination.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Assist with the full cycle of onboarding and offboarding processes for field and office employees.
  2. Support new hire orientation sessions and materials.
  3. Process and provide new hire information to the payroll department.
  4. Ensure completion of all administrative components including paperwork, compliance documentation, and system entries for employee benefits.
  5. Conduct or coordinate background checks and employment eligibility verifications (e.g., Minnesota New Hire reporting, I-9 forms and identification, and E-Verify).
  6. Administer security clearances when required for divisional projects.
  7. Maintain required records for employees who drive for company business, including current driver’s license, MVR reports, proof of required insurance coverage, signed authorizations, and acknowledgement of applicable policies.
  8. Assist with documentation processing of employee updates such as address changes, department transfers, pay adjustments, tax withholding changes, and terminations.
  9. Respond to requests for verification of employment.
  10. Respond to unemployment claims for field and office employees.
  11. Assist the HR Generalist with sourcing and screening candidates for various positions as needed.
  12. Assist in the planning and execution of internal events, including career fairs, employee recognition programs, and other HR initiatives.
  13. Skills and Education:
  • Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field preferred.
  • 3+ years of experience in HR support or administrative roles.
  • Knowledge of general HR practices, including onboarding and recruitment processes.
  • Strong organizational skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with discretion.
