Position Summary
Boiler Tube Company is seeking a highly organized and motivated Human Resources Coordinator to support the Plant Human Resources Manager in a variety of HR functions. This role plays a critical part in recruiting, onboarding, employee relations, leave administration, training coordination, employee engagement activities, and offboarding processes. The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, customer-focused, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced manufacturing environment while ensuring compliance with company policies and employment regulations.
Recruitment & Staffing
- Post and manage job openings through the applicant tracking system
- Source and identify qualified candidates for hourly manufacturing positions
- Screen applicants and coordinate interviews with hiring managers
- Support recruiting initiatives to attract top talent
Onboarding & New Hire Administration
- Coordinate pre-employment requirements, including drug screens and fit-for-duty appointments
- Complete I-9 employment eligibility verification
- Conduct new hire orientation and onboarding activities
- Schedule and track onboarding training requirements
Employee Records Management
- Maintain accurate and confidential employee records
- Update personnel files, attendance records, leave documentation, and other HR-related data within HR systems
- Ensure compliance with record retention requirements
Benefits & Leave Administration
- Assist employees with questions regarding company benefits, including health insurance, retirement plans, and wellness programs
- Manage leave administration processes, including FMLA, short-term disability, and ADA accommodation requests through designated vendor platforms
- Ensure timely and accurate documentation of employee leave cases
Training & Development
- Assign and monitor online training programs
- Maintain training records and databases
- Coordinate training schedules and ensure completion records are accurately documented
Offboarding & Employee Transitions
- Conduct exit interviews and gather employee feedback
- Process termination paperwork and offboarding documentation
- Coordinate the return of company property and completion of separation requirements
Administrative & HR Support
- Maintain HR filing systems and documentation
- Schedule meetings and prepare HR reports, presentations, and employee status change documentation
- Provide administrative support for day-to-day HR operations
Special Projects & Employee Engagement
- Partner with the Plant HR Manager on employee events, engagement initiatives, training activities, and continuous improvement projects
- Support implementation of HR programs and organizational initiatives
Qualifications
Required:
- Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field OR
- Associate degree with at least 2 years of Human Resources experience
- Strong proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook)
- Excellent organizational and time management skills
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information professionally
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently and as part of a team
Preferred: Human Resources experience in a manufacturing, industrial, or plant environment
- Experience with applicant tracking systems (ATS) and HRIS platforms
- Familiarity with FMLA, ADA, and leave administration processes
