HR Coordinator
Location: Lancaster Office (Fully on-site during training, then hybrid schedule available)
Salary Range: $55,000 - $62,000
Employment Type: Contract to Hire

Overview:

UDS is seeking a personable and adaptable HR Coordinator to join their dynamic HR team of six, reporting directly to Sandra. Personality is a key factor for this role; they believe that a good personality is something that cannot be trained. The ideal candidate will value teamwork, be open to new ideas, and excel in recruiting and sourcing candidates proactively.

This position is crucial for fostering a positive workplace culture and ensuring smooth HR operations. While some employee relations knowledge is helpful, it is not a primary focus of this role.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Recruitment & Sourcing: Responsible for actively recruiting case managers, identifying retention needs, and sourcing candidates rather than waiting for applicants to apply. Experience with Indeed is required.
  • Employee Relations: General understanding of HR best practices, but strong employee relations experience is not required.
  • Claims Management: Oversee unemployment and compensation claims, as well as conduct employment verifications. A basic understanding of HR laws, I-9s, and unemployment processes is essential.
  • HRIS Support: Act as a backup to the HRIS Specialist, assisting with onboarding processes. Experience with Sage HRIS is preferred.
  • Administrative Tasks: Support general HR functions as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Proven recruiting experience, especially in sourcing candidates.
  • Experience in an HR environment, preferably in human services.
  • Proficient in Indeed and other applicant tracking systems.
  • Strong interpersonal skills and a team-oriented personality.
  • HRIS experience is a plus.

The work schedule will require the candidate to be in the office three days a week following training, with the flexibility to increase remote work thereafter.

  • PA background check and child clearance
  • FBI check (if the candidate has not lived in PA for the past two years)

Additional Notes:
  • The previous HR Coordinator was in the role for only three months due to lack of true recruiting experience and general HR knowledge.
  • Key Priorities: Strong recruiter who understands sourcing strategies and HR 101 basics (laws, I-9s, unemployment, exempt vs. non-exempt, etc.).
  • Not looking for a generalist or someone heavy in employee relations.
  • Current agencies are not providing strong candidates, so additional sourcing is critical.
