Job summary

Haddad Plumbing and Heating Inc. seeks a Human Resources and Compliance Coordinator to join our leadership support team at our Newark, New Jersey headquarters.

The role supports HR administration while ensuring compliance with city, state, and federal employment laws. Responsibilities include employee training, performance management administration, policy development, and audit support across all departments.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration, or related field.
• 1–3 years of experience in HR or compliance-related work.
• Excellent attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Experience with HRIS systems and compliance software.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Strong interpersonal skills; capable of working independently and collaboratively.
• Enthusiastic about learning and advancing within the company.
• High attention to detail and quick retention of new information.

Responsibilities

• Conduct in-person training for new and existing employees on company systems, programs and procedures.
• Conduct weekly in-person meetings with Managers and Supervisors on employee progress.
• Understand and navigate all company systems to efficiently train employees.
• Implement KPI program in isolved to track employee progress.
• Conduct small group and one-on-one training for all employees to use the KPI program.
• Monitor and maintain employee performance using performance management software.
• Create SOPs for all roles within all departments.
• Support HR to ensure compliance with City, State, and Federal regulations.
• Review and manage employee files for completeness and accuracy.
• Assist management with recruiting, prescreening, scheduling interviews and onboarding.
• Create and monitor HR documents to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Stay updated on law and regulatory changes to ensure proper documentation.
• Work with leadership to keep policies and employee handbook up to date.
• Maintain compliance signage for regulatory requirements.
• Audit OSHA 300 logs and safety meeting documentation.
• Monitor toolbox talks and safety meeting documentation.
• Develop policies for unfamiliar compliance issues to ensure adherence.
• Implement internal checks to streamline processes and prevent issues.
• Perform random audits to ensure compliance across departments.
• Document and track incidents for timely follow-up by HR and Management.
• Any other tasks as assigned by management.
