Serving individuals aged 5-21 across the U.S. and Puerto Rico, our network of K-12 schools provides personalized education tailored to each student’s unique learning style. We offer comprehensive therapeutic services—speech, physical, occupational therapy, and more—along with vocational training for older students. Our dedicated team collaborates with families to ensure academic, social, and emotional growth, preparing students for success beyond the classroom.

At Gersh Autism, we are committed to helping individuals on the autism spectrum lead fulfilling, independent lives.

Gersh Autism is seeking a dynamic and experienced HR Business Partner to join our team. This full-time position will be based onsite at our NEW Bronx school. The HRBP will also provide HR partnership and support to other locations as needed. You will serve as a strategic advisor and collaborative partner to site leadership, working to foster a culture of excellence and employee engagement across multiple locations.

In this role, you’ll lead and support critical HR programs, drive process improvements, and help build scalable people strategies that align with Gersh Autism’s mission and values.

**Please note, this role is heavily focused on hands‑on employee relations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide expert guidance to leaders and team members on complex employee relations matters, including investigations, accommodations, and terminations.
  • Ensure compliance with all federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations.
  • Develop and deliver engaging training programs for managers and staff on topics such as performance management, soft skills, coaching, and policy adherence.

  • Promote a culture of inclusion, growth, and continuous learning within the HR team through mentorship and professional development opportunities.
Required Skills and Competencies
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to manage multiple priorities with accuracy
  • Proven ability to manage a wide range of HR functions including employee relations, benefits, compliance, training, and HRIS
  • Strong background in employee relations with hands‑on experience conducting investigations and resolving sensitive workplace issues
  • High integrity with demonstrated ability to manage confidential information with professionalism and discretion
  • Excellent communication skills (both verbal and written) with the ability to influence and build trust at all levels of the organization
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills, with a high level of accuracy and follow-through
  • Tech‑savvy with proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with HR systems preferred
  • Collaborative, people‑focused mindset with a service‑oriented approach to supporting leaders and teams
Education and Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, or a related field.
  • Minimum of 10 years of progressive HR experience, including at least 3–5 years specifically as an HR Business Partner supporting leadership and driving strategic initiatives.
  • Proven experience managing employee relations, implementing HR programs, and working cross‑functionally in a multi‑site or matrixed environment.
  • Experience in the education or healthcare sector is a plus, but not required
