Iron Systems, Inc is seeking an HR Business Partner Associate to support a growing field workforce in a structured 12-month development program. You will engage with HR leadership, assist with onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, reporting and offboarding across a largely onsite operation in Pleasanton, CA.

The role requires 0–2 years of HR-related experience, a relevant degree, and strong communication skills. Experience with AI tools and HR knowledge bases is a plus.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's or master's in HR, IO psychology, labor & employment relations, organizational leadership, business admin, or related field.
• 0–2 years of HR, recruiting, operations or employee-support experience (internships/projects OK).
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Onsite work at the Pleasanton, CA office five days per week.

About The Role

IRON Service Global (ISG) is seeking an HR Business Partner Associate - Field Workforce to support our growing field workforce. This is a structured 12-month HR development role for a professional with 0–2 years of relevant experience. You will work closely with HR leadership and support employees across onboarding, employee relations, HR operations, reporting, engagement and offboarding.

The role also includes hands-on work with ISG’s HR Knowledge Base and employee-facing AI tools, giving you exposure to both traditional HR and emerging HR technology.

Key Responsibilities

• Serve as a first point of contact for routine employee questions related to payroll, timekeeping, benefits, leave and HR policies.
• Support employee-relations intake, documentation and escalation.
• Coordinate onboarding, employee changes, transfers and offboarding.
• Maintain accurate employee records and support HR compliance processes.

• Test AI-generated HR responses for accuracy and identify when issues should be escalated to HR.
• Support HR improvement, workforce analytics and employee-experience initiatives.

What You Bring

Required

• Completed bachelor's or master's degree in Human Resources, Industrial/Organizational Psychology, Labor & Employment Relations, Organizational Leadership, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 0–2 years of relevant HR, recruiting, operations or employee-support experience, including internships or project experience.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to handle confidential information with sound judgment.
• Working knowledge of Microsoft Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
• Ability to work onsite at the Pleasanton, CA office five days per week.

AI & Digital Skills - Required

Practical experience using generative AI tools such as ChatGPT, Microsoft Copilot, Gemini, Claude or similar tools for activities such as research, drafting, summarization, data analysis, process documentation or knowledge management. Candidates should also understand how to validate AI-generated information and protect confidential information when using AI tools.

Preferred

• Exposure to HR operations, employee relations or workforce support.
• Experience with Excel reporting, Power BI, Tableau or similar tools.
• Experience creating FAQs, knowledge-base content or process documentation.
• Progress toward aPHR or SHRM-CP certification.
• Experience with AI-assisted workflows or chatbot testing.
