Job summary

DCM Inc. is seeking an HR Business Partner to manage recruiting, onboarding, employee investigations, and benefits administration at our DC facilities.

You will ensure policy compliance, develop training materials, and maintain confidential employee files while partnering with leadership to improve efficiency and employee experience. The role involves working with the COO on ad hoc projects, managing HR data, and coordinating interviews.

Qualifications

  • Must be at least 21 years old.
  • Pass both Federal and State criminal history background checks.
  • Associate's degree in HR, Business Admin or Communications; Bachelor's preferred.
  • Minimum 5 years of HR experience.
  • 3 years in full life-cycle recruiting, high-volume roles.
  • Minimum 2 years of administrative experience.
  • Comfortable using ATS and recruitment tools.
  • Technology savvy; strong MS Office proficiency.

Responsibilities

  • First point of contact for HR inquiries at DC facilities.
  • Apply HR policies, employee handbook, and benefits enrollment.
  • Educate staff on policies and procedures.
  • Create and maintain confidential employee files.
  • Develop training materials for Phyto Cultivation and Retail.
  • Maintain department records and suggest process improvements.
  • Manage employee data and terminations records.
  • Assist with workers' compensation claims and reporting.
  • Address grievances; conduct investigations with Compliance & Strategy Partner.
  • Maintain/update ATS, job descriptions, and requisitions.
  • Screen resumes and conduct initial interviews; coordinate with hiring teams.
  • Facilitate interviews with timely feedback and positive candidate experience.
  • Complete ad hoc projects assigned by the COO.

HR Business Partner

The HR Business Partner is responsible for various Human Resources and recruiting functions. This includes a variety of responsibilities such as: recruiting and onboarding, employee investigations, trainings, and benefits administration.

Your role in caring for our plants:

The essential functions include, but are not limited to the following:

  • First point of contact for general HR related inquiries at our DC facilities.
  • Responsible to applying all HR policies and company guidelines and ensuring company compliance to include employee handbook overview, policies, employment documents, and benefit enrollment.
  • Educate and communicate company personnel policies and procedures to newly hired and current employees.
  • Create and maintain complete and confidential files on each employee.
  • Create and maintain all professional development materials for Phyto Cultivation and Retail through L&G and all general HR trainings.
  • Establish and maintain department records and reports; recommend new approaches, policies, and procedures to effect continual improvements in efficiency and services performed.
  • Record and maintain data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, supervisory reports on performance, change of statuses, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Assist in managing workers' compensation injury claims.
  • File reports with insurance provider, maintain accident information and monitor progress.
  • Address employee grievances; conduct investigations when necessary. In coordination with HR Compliance & Strategy Partner, take appropriate action against employees who violate policies (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
  • Maintain the company's ATS, ensure job descriptions, templates, and requisitions are updated regularly.
  • Review resumes and applications to assess candidate qualifications and suitability for open positions.
  • Conduct initial phone or video interviews to evaluate candidates' skills, experience, and cultural fit.
  • Work closely with hiring managers to understand staffing needs and develop effective recruitment strategies.
  • Coordinate and schedule interviews between candidates and hiring teams.
  • Facilitate the interview process, ensuring timely and constructive feedback to candidates.
  • Ensure a positive and professional candidate experience throughout the recruitment process.
  • Record and maintain data for each employee, including such information as addresses, weekly earnings, absences, supervisory reports on performance, change of statuses, and dates of and reasons for terminations.
  • Answer questions regarding eligibility, salaries, benefits and other pertinent information.
  • Complete adhoc projects as needed assigned by the COO.
Qualifications we ask you to have:
  • For legal reasons, all employees need to be at least 21 years of age.
  • You will be asked to pass a Federal and State criminal history background check.
  • We ask that you have a Associate's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration or Communications (Bachelor's Degree Preferred).
  • We ask that you have at a minimum of five (5) years of human resources experience.
  • We ask that you have three (3) years with non-exempt recruiting experience in full life-cycle environment, including management of multiple high-volume roles simultaneously (manufacturing and/or retail industry preferred).
  • We ask that you have a minimum of two (2) years of administrative experience.
  • We ask that you are comfortable and proficient utilizing a ATS and other recruitment tools.
  • We ask that you are technology savvy, extensive experience in MS Office is a plus.
Addition skills which will help you excel in your role:
  • Ability and willingness to learn about different positions within the company.
  • Bilingual in Spanish is a plus.
  • Passion about talent acquisition methods.
  • Ability to scan large volumes of resumes.
  • Good understanding and experience with HR tools such as ATS and HRIS.
  • A ability to conduct different types of interviews.
  • A ability to design and implement recruiting strategies.
  • Strong attention to detail.

  • A working knowledge of employment law and legislation.

Work Schedule/Location:

This position is an on-site five (5) days a week role and will split between two (2) facilities (Phyto Retail and Phyto Cultivation). In addition, we may require the individual to work outside normal business hours depending on operational demands. This role is an on call position should there be an on-site employee emergency.
